Cooking Classes with Chef Dave

Join the magician in his kitchen as Chef Dave provides hands-on instruction at monthly cooking classes in the Halyards kitchen. Each exclusive class is limited to 6-8 participants and features original recipes and mouthwatering menus from Chef Dave of Halyard Restaurant Group. Slice, simmer and serve the perfect culinary creation all under Chef Dave’s patient and gentle guidance. Then, feast on the fruits of your labor with perfectly paired wines, plus tales and tips from Chef Dave on how to create more masterpieces at home.

Saturday, May 18
Subject: White Wine and Fish
Our May demonstration will feature special guest, Brian Henderson, a level two sommelier who will be sharing his wine knowledge of many wines from several regions. Menu includes Oysters and Champagne, Scallop and Celery with Albarino, Snapper Mango Salsa and Sauvignon Blanc, Spicy Shrimp and Gewurztraminer, Grouper with Crab Butter and Chardonnay. Class is limited to 16 guests. $125

Subject: Red Wine and Meats
Our June demonstration will feature special guest, Brian Henderson, a level two sommelier who will be sharing his wine knowledge of many wines from several regions. Menu includes Pork Tenderloin and Pinot Noir, Duck Confit and Cote du Rhone, Sweetbreads and Merlot, Hanger Steak and Cabernet, NY Strip and Zinfandel. Class is limited to 16 guests. $125

I think the thing I enjoyed the most about the class was seeing Dave enjoy it so much!  I thought he did a great job of instruction and hands-on during the class.  It's one thing to hear and watch but even better to get in there with your hands and have him assist and encourage you along the way.
